About
Hello, my name is Lauren and I'm a Not So It Girl.
My career began in 1998 and has spanned print, radio, TV, digital and books. I began as an intern at Rolling Stone and was one of the original editors of teen magazine CosmoGIRL!, writing and editing cover stories on Jessica Simpson, Ashton Kutcher and Anne Hathaway. After stints at Us Weekly and Inside TV, I joined Sirius Satellite Radio as a producer in the talk programming department, booking talent for celebrity hosts such as Deepak Chopra, Barbara Walters, Candace Bushnell and Judith Regan. I've also worked at MTV, Glamour, OK! (and TONS more as a consultant and contributor). In my spare time (ha!), I've appeared as a pop culture expert on TV shows and I'm the proud author of five books including the middle grade novel Doggy Divas: Roxy's Rules, The Girls Life Guide to Surviving Middle School, Reese Witherspoon: The Biography, Emma Roberts: Simply Fabulous and Lindsay Lohan: The It Girl Next Door. Currently, I freelance write/edit/consult for a wide range of outlets including Shape, Swaay, Fisher Price, Well+Good, Scholastic and more. I have a cute husband whose about to add firefighter to his resume and we're the ridiculously obsessed, I mean, proud parents of our adorable 3-year-old daughter Mila. We live in the suburbs of NYC—never thought I'd ever leave the city but now can't believe I survived so long without a fridge that dispenses water and ice from the front door.
