Meet Lauren
I was 14-years-old the first time I got grounded. My parents were unavailable to drive me across town to go to a Brian Austin Green meet and greet. After telling a million lies, I still went but got caught when I couldn’t figure out the bus route home and had no choice but to ask a police officer for help. For a month, I couldn’t do anything other than schoolwork but that brief moment telling Brian how much his show Beverly Hills, 90210 meant to me was worth it. A few years later when I was in college, I made a new friend with big claims about a connection to my idol Steven Tyler. I took a big risk, ditched class for two days and drove across three states with him to find out if it was true (it was—see the photo below). That passion for pop culture, the way it moved me so deeply plus my never ending desire to tell stories was a natural transition into one wild ride of a career.
I landed in NYC fresh out of school with starry-eyed visions of becoming a big-time entertainment writer. Almost two decades later, I’ve had a successful career that started in print magazines and went on to span radio, TV, digital, books, podcasts and now TV. I’ve hustled at major media brands, worked with bold-faced names and kept finding new mediums to combine my love of pop culture and storytelling.
As for the specifics, I started as an intern at Rolling Stone and was one of the original editors of CosmoGIRL!. That's where I learned the entertainment editor ropes—and got my best story about pranking the paparazzi with Anne Hathaway (feel free to ask!). After stints at Us Weekly and Inside TV, I joined Sirius Satellite Radio as a producer/booker. I then went on to work at MTV, Glamour, OK!, Seventeen and many more outlets as a consultant and contributor. In my spare time (ha!), I've written five books (including my middle-grade novel The Doggy Divas). In the TV world, my credits include story producer for Galley Talk and a segment producer for Watch Party with Tom and Tom on Bravo, plus offered my writing chops to the Bedtime by Bravo digital series and much more. I’ve also been a featured pop culture expert on radio, TV and industry panels.
While my 20+ years strong career has reinvented itself so many times, Madonna would be proud—I’ve always stayed true to my passions and goals. Every new medium I immerse myself in and every new project I take on all pay homage to my past experiences while thinking about what is next. I look forward to working with you—and promise not to talk your ear off too much about all the things I’m currently watching, reading, listening and have many thoughts to dive into!
